READ-A-THON IS BACK! | September 19TH THRU October 5th
Read-A-Thon is here & will run from Monday, September 19th through Wednesday October 5th.
If you're new to this event, Read-A-Thon is basically a fun opportunity to encourage our students to read & build literacy skills while also raising money for our awesome school. This will be our 5th ever Read-A-Thon & our students love it every year & everyone gets really excited & competitive about reading. There are both reading prizes & fundraising prizes (more prize info attached) so absolutely everyone can get involved.
Did you know the International Baccalaureate program offered at Freedom 7 Elementary is funded by our APT organization? Your support helps Freedom 7 APT fund annual IB fees, required IB teacher training, provide supplemental curriculum materials as well as provide needed items which are not covered by the school’s general operating budget. Funds from previous Read-A-Thons have supported our school’s IB program, provided classroom technology, curriculum enrichment and funded various facility improvements. This year, we are raising money to further our mission of enhancing academic excellence and the educational experience for Freedom 7 students and our school community.
Looking for a copy of our Read-A-Thon flyer with this year's details? Click here.
Head to app.99pledges.com/fund/f7read22 to track our fundraising progress and find your student(s)'s page.
Our leaderboard as of Monday, 9/26 is provided below.
IB Spirit Shirts|Now through OctoBER 7, 2022
Let's celebrate the "Spirit of IB" and our wonderful school!
Our All-New IB Spirit T-shirts are an optional non-uniform shirt designed especially with our Freedom 7 students & families in mind. The art for our shirt was designed by an illustrator in the Ukraine and he incorporated lots of pieces which make Freedom 7 the best place to be. Even the rocket which took the Freedom 7 capsule into space!
PLEASE NOTE: These are NON-UNIFORM shirts designed to be worn on special days as announced (International Fest, Global Play Day, etc.).
We encourage families to purchase a shirt for themselves/siblings/etc. as well as their student.
We are selling these shirts to families near cost & do not plan to buy extras. Please understand if you do not purchase before the deadline, there will not be another opportunity to purchase until next school year. DEADLINE TO PRE-ORDER ONLINE IS OCTOBER 7TH, 2022.

Thanks to John Pisani & Starbucks Cocoa Beach for their generous coffee donation, Mr. Devin for the delicious hot breakfast items & to all the parents who brought in items to make this year's Boo-Hoo/Woo-Hoo a huge success. You're the best!
If you missed the meeting or just want to review what we talked about, Click the graphic below for the slides including links to all the valuable information we discussed.
Registered Volunteer Drive | Ongoing
Brevard District security requires any volunteer on campus during school hours to be an approved volunteer (w/ background check & fingerprinting).
It's a great time to get approved! Fingerprinting is now FREE at the district security office & Mrs. Lott is offering 2 hours of volunteer time for all new registered volunteers! Visit the Brevard County District Security Webpage to fill out the online form before heading over for fingerprints.
The office is located at 2700 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, Melbourne, FL 32940 and is open M-F from 8 am to 4:30 pm. No appointment needed!
Registered district volunteers are able to help out on-campus, in the classroom & on field trips when needed. Note: Approved volunteer status is also required to eat lunch with your student on campus. Become an approved volunteer today!
As of July 10, 2022 district approval is taking approximately 30 days to complete. We recommend getting started ASAP as background checks can be delayed in the August/September rush & take as long as 60-90 days.
Have questions about your volunteer status? Email our school's Volunteer Coordinator Carol Palmer at Palmer.Carol@brevardschools.org.
USED UNIFORM DRIVE |NOW UNTIL AUGUST 3, 2022
Have used uniforms in good condition and want to support our school? We'd love to have them in our Used Uniform Sale! You may drop them off any time in the front office between now and Wednesday, August 3rd and earn 1.5 volunteer hours for your time & effort! (Sign-Up Sheet/Volunteer Log is located on counter in front office). Please remember the school is on summer office hours and will be available M-F 7:30-2:30 only.
If you need to drop off at a different time, email us at email@example.com & we'll set something up. Two of our APT Volunteers live right down the street & would be happy to take them anytime.
Freedom 7 Spirit Wear | ONGOING
Every year we've had a few parents ask for Freedom 7 shirts for parents/siblings/family members to be able to show their support for our wonderful little beachside school. We've teamed up with a Spirit Wear company who allows families to order shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants and more via direct order which doesn't require us to commit precious funds to holding stock of shirts at the school. Even better, it's made on-demand when you order it and ships to you directly. It's that easy! If you'd like to order items, visit the website. We're planning to keep it open/ongoing and theirs no deadlines. Any questions about the products or your order will go directly to 1st Place Spirit Wear. :) Enjoy families!
***Please Note*** Spirit Wear is meant to provide parents, students and their families an option for showing their support of our school in their off time. Spirit Wear is not a substitute for official school uniforms and may NOT be worn to school in place of official F7 Polos or Uniform T-Shirts. The only acceptable day for students to wear these items to school would be on a Free Dress Day.
Birthday Treats | Available All Year Long!
If you're looking to send birthday treats your child's class to celebrate with their friends, check out what our cafeteria has to offer!
Parents are not allowed to send/bring-in food items at this time due to COVID concerns so this is a wonderful solution. If you have any additional questions, email Mr. Devin Smith our café manager at firstname.lastname@example.org and he'll be happy to help. :)
Access the cafeteria order form at the link provided below.
Monthly café menus | ongoing

The menus provided in the district app for our school are not correct & are for large schools. These menus provided are accurate & provided on a monthly basis by Mr. Devin.
